TII Conference 2011

Innovation, Prosperity and Quality of Life
26th - 28th of May 2011
Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

In 2011, TII departs from the usual beaten track of conference destinations to hold its first ever annual conference in Russia, in the capital of the Volga region, Nizhny Novgorod.  It will offer a unique opportunity to discover first-hand some examples of Russian technological genius, to meet and network with like-minded professionals and potential partners as well as to share methods and practice for supporting the innovation process.

Why Russia and why Nizhny Novgorod? The answer to the first part of the question lies in TII’s 2020 mission statement, which is to create networking opportunities for its members with innovation support organizations across the globe. The second part of the answer is a direct result of the offer to host our 2011 conference from our longest-standing Russian member, the Science and Information Center in Nizhny Novgorod.

Our 2011 conference, which is being held on the theme of “Innovation, Prosperity, Quality of Life”, promises to be rather different from previous years’ events. First, the destination of Nizhny Novgorod is likely to involve a first-time visit for most of the non-Russian participants. Second, the conference promises to attract a fascinating East-West mix of delegates from the host country and from the European Union, not forgetting the CIS countries in the eastern half of Europe. It will also offer an opportunity to introduce western European delegates to the scientific and technological strengths of the home region through a programme of pre-conference visits and poster sessions during the conference. Last, but not least, the conference programme is intended to offer an even mix of a presentations and contributions from western European and Russian delegates on how innovation is the key to providing prosperity and quality of life in the 21st century.
